Celebrities, TV presenters, radio personalities and basically everyone is opening a YouTube channel lately. Could it be they are looking to make some green or tap into new audiences? But either way, they have diversified the amount of content available to us and we are here for it.
Like most people, I have been spending a lot of my free time on YouTube and other social media apps. I believe we are all trying to remain sane through it all. In my so many hours on YouTube, I have come across some great and not so great content. And today we will talk about the great content that has been produced by Kenyan YouTubers.
A couple of days ago we asked you guys who was your favorite Kenyan YouTuber and why on Facebook (and make sure to like our page) and the response was overwhelming. We had over 600 comments and 2.2k likes. Thank you guys so much. Here are some of the screen grabs in case you missed it:
Here are some of the channels you should watch;
Abel Mutua
Mkurugenzi mkuu was one of the most mentioned Kenyan YouTuber and I personally love his channel too. My friends can tell you that I love listening to peoples’ stories even when it doesn’t concern me at all. And finding someone who beautifully tells a story is just amazing. Most people on the thread actually loved the fact that his stories were very entertaining and were told in sheng. His incorporation of some very cool unique catchy phrases adds the flavor to it. If you haven’t had a taste of the goodness, kimbia youtube, utafurahia.
Betty Kyallo
Team mabudesko mko wapi? Betty Kyalo started her YouTube channel slightly over a month ago and so far she has gained 100K+ subscribers. Her content is mostly based on lifestyle, motherhood and career. The channel has gainned a million+ views due to Betty’s realness and authenticity. Once you watch a couple of episodes you will feel like you are part of her family and will share her pain, joys and victories.
Jalango Tv
People on Facebook are actually obsessed with this channel. It was mentioned a lot of times. With Jalango on your screen, there is one thing that is certain, laughter. His channel which has gained over 100K subscribers in slightly over a month gaining 10K subscribers weekly. It’s arguably the fastest growing YouTube channel in Kenya. His channel involves him hosting celebrities, politicians and the who is who in Kenya. But it would be great if he could bring his audience into his life.
Yummy Mummy
Yummy mummy was one of the most mentioned female YouTubers and we are here for it. It’s been a whole minute since Yummy Mummy posted on her YouTube channel but her fans have been screaming her name out loud. Her content mostly involves lifestyle, motherhood and marriage. From the comments, it was evident that her fans appreciated her realness-she doesn’t just post it for the gram. She is also known as the best plug for everything be it makeup, clothes and house items. Currently, she is on a weight loss journey and you can follow her on Instagram for more.
Pika na Raych
Who doesn’t love food content? Raych has managed to gain a place in the kitchen of many Kenyans due to her easy recipes and readily available ingredients. She is also known to be very entertaining in her cooking videos, gaining a lot of subscribers. Her content was mostly based on food recipes but right now she is diversifying to marriage, family and music.
Njugush
This guy has the keys to my heart. The rate at which he makes me laugh is alarming. And the sad fact is, I am not alone and he has a whole wife. Njugush’s content is mostly based on comedy and his wife’s segments on “Cele’s Reflection”. I thoroughly enjoy the content available on their channel and I don’t think there is one video I haven’t watched. They have so far gained over 340K subscribers and growing.
Wajesus Family
I am a sucker for love and I just love love this couple. With over 236K subscribers on YouTube, they are one of the most-watched YouTube couples in Kenya, with their content mostly demystifying marriage works. Kabi Wajesus as the cartoon of the family will always make you laugh with his funny behavior and Milly’s laugh is just life. They also do a lot of travel and lifestyle vlogs.
Green Calabash
A lot of Kenyans love this channel. Their content is mostly based on lifestyle, family, marriage and home schooling. So far they have gained 72k+ subscribers and have shared very vulnerable moments with their audience. They actually filmed and shared their home birth experience.
Bonlive’s Empire
I would like to believe this is the Kenyan version of Riss and Quan, but even better. This couple is hilarious and their pranks will have you on the floor laughing so hard. They prank hard and love even harder.
Wabosha
For the lovers of fashion and glam, Wabosha is your girl. She has been a digital content creator for a while and she is doing a phenomenal job. A lot of Kenyans love her for her uniqueness and her style.
We couldn’t mention everyone but we hope we made it easier for you to catch up on great content available on YouTube. You can drop us a comment on the YouTube Channel that should be on the list.
