Applications for KCB Lions’ Den season 3 are now open to entrepreneurs wanting to tap growth opportunities for their businesses. The KCB Lions’ Den Entrepreneurship reality show is aimed at giving local entrepreneurs a chance to showcase and pitch their ideas to local entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, among other players in the investment space. This is part of the KES 50 Billion 2jiajiri initiative by the KCB Foundation ,a program that seeks to empower budding entrepreneurs to scale and upscale their business ventures.
In our last article, we reviewed the second season where a total KES 140 million shillings was invested with 36 entrepreneurs benefiting from the entrepreneurship deals. The past two seasons have seen 59 entrepreneurs receive capital pledges of Sh291 million from the Lions; with over ksh140 million from season 2 and ksh150 million from season 1.
“We aspire to see many entrepreneurs get the support they need not only in financing their business but also mentorship. We also desire to support numerous viable ideas become real businesses,” said KCB Group Marketing and Communications Director, Angela Mwirigi
In our other article, we highlighted the observations made on the specific areas entrepreneurs need to improve on even as they plan to take their ventures to the next level. KCB Lions’ Den season 3 promises to be bigger and better. I look forward to seeing more ground-breaking ventures being showcased and invested in.
In the previous seasons, the number of applicants increased from 5,000 in the first season to over 6,500 in Season Two, indicating rising interest among entrepreneurs. This program has helped entrepreneurs access a pool of mentors and financial support to help them expand their economic opportunities, contribute to their communities, and become responsible members of society.
