With the emergence and change in technology, developing digital entrepreneurship and creating new job opportunities for young people is critical to Kenya’s transformative growth.
There is an increasing growth in access to the Internet among youth, gained largely through cell phones and home connections. This has therefore led to the increase in the use of social software tools for webpage creation, blogging, and creating and sharing multimedia content. But are the youth using these tools effectively?
Google in partnership with emobilis and Careerpoint Solutions will be facilitating a free training on digital marketing at the eMobilis Institute, 3rd Floor, Kipro Center (Westlands roundabout), Opp Parklands Baptist, Rhapta Road, Westlands on Saturday 15th July, 2017. 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Digital Marketing Skills is a Google Initiative- fully sponsored 3 Hour capacity development program on Digital skills tailored to empower a million young Africans with introductory level digital marketing knowledge/tools to help them build an online presence, create content, understand social media and digital advertising. Trainees are also awarded Digital Certificates after successfully completing the training.
Curriculum:
- The Online & Digital Opportunity: (Statistics for Digital in Africa, Evolution of Media, Digital Marketing).
- Building Your Online Presence: (The Website, Email Marketing, SEO, Social Media).
- Google Adwords: (Search, Display, Video, & Mobile Advertising) .
Google has been at the forefront for championing youth training on digital skills and entrepreneurship. Last year saw the tech giant launch a platform to train one million African youth, 200,000 Kenyans included, on Digital entrepreneurship for a period of 12 months.
