Nairobi Innovation ( NIW ) Week 2017 Kicks Off Today

The University of Nairobi will play host to the much anticipated Nairobi Innovation Week (NIW) starting today. This is a one-week event that will bring together  more than 100 local and international exhibitors. This marks the third edition of the entrepreneurship event that targets Policy makers from government, Academia, Entrepreneurs, Corporate companies, Innovators , research institutions, Investors, venture capitalists, international organizations and development partners among other players.

Objectives

• To show case and recognize innovations by researchers, incubatees (University Innovation Hub and other Innovation Hubs), private companies and public agencies.
• To create a platform for presentation of academic papers, innovation illustrations and case studies focused on research and innovation.
• To champion policy discussions on innovation in Kenya.

With the theme ‘Innovating to solve Pressing local and global challenges’, Nairobi Innovation week seeks to provide a platform for developing Innovations for Sustainable Development Goals at Sub National Level. This is a place to meet like minded innovators ,entrepreneurs and investors to help take your business or idea to the next level.

Among the exhibitors will be UNICEF who will be promoting children’s interests and protection within the innovation ecosystem, while the Finish Embassy will bring more than 50 business men and women seeking partnerships, business deals and investment opportunities.

Lastly, don’t forget to visit the Ajira Digital tent. This is the ideal place to register for jobs online, do a recording at the studio Mashinani , and learn more about the Constituency Innovation Hubs Concept.

Ajira jobs online aims to introduce young people in Kenya to online work and provide the tools, training and mentor ship needed for young people to work and earn an income through online work.
