BLAZE Unveils BYOB Youth Entrepreneurship Reality TV Show

BLAZE BYOB Entrepreneurship Reality TV show was unveiled yesterday at the ihub by Safaricom. This show is geared towards solving the unemployment situation among the youths in Kenya by providing financial support, mentorship and business advice from Safaricom and other interested partners. BLAZE is geared towards empowering the youths to be their own bosses by encouraging and supporting them to earn from their passions and talents.

During the event, a total of three judges and twelve contestants were unveiled, who will be starring in the show scheduled to premiere on 6th February 2017. The show will be airing on KTN TV from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm every Monday. BLAZE held a total of six summits across the country that saw the rigorous selection of the twelve contestants who range between the ages of 19 and 26.

The Contestants:

Sam Ngure, Paul Zakaria, Susan Mueni, Joseph Wanja, Susan Maina, Cate Akoth,Vinsencia Gisore, Keith Asumba, Valentine Nekesa, Lynette Achieng’, David Kimani, Wayne Ochieng’.

The show will run for eight weeks with contestants being eliminated every week after a rigorous evaluation on their ability to perform outstandingly        well in various business and real-life situations. The overall winner will walk away with a total of Ksh 5 million with ksh 3 million in cash and the rest in form of mentorship and business support. Good news is that all the other participating contestants will not walk away empty handed but will also receive a consolation prize towards supporting their business ventures.

The BLAZE Journey

BLAZE was launched in May 2016 to help youths achieve their own versions of success.It has so far signed up close to 900,000 subscribers, with over 44,000 in attendance through the six summits held across the country. 778 men and women auditioned for the BYOB TV show going through a five-stage audition process that came down to the 12 finalists.
