The Bloggers Association Of Kenya (BAKE) opened the 2017 BAKE Awards submission phase on 9th January 2017 through a post on their blog.
The competition which began officially on 9th will go through different phases before culminating in the awarding of the winners at a gala event scheduled for May 13th 2017.
The awards which will be taking place for the sixth year in a row will include a new category , i.e. Best Lifestyle Blog, bringing the categories to 20. Since the commencement of the awards in 2012, some names would always show up on the winners list and this made a few quarters uncomfortable. So this year will see three-time (or more) winners in the awards ineligible to compete.
The timeline this year is as follows:
1. Submission phase – January 9th 2017 to February 10th 2017
2. Judging phase – February 11th 2017 to February 28th 2017
3. Online voting – March 3rd 2017 to May 1st 2017
4. Winners’ Gala Event – May 13th 2017
Nominate your favorite blog in each category till February 10th 2017 when the judges will take over to choose 5 nominees from the submitted blogs. This will be then opened to the public to vote for their favorite blog/s and the winners crowned at a gala event scheduled for May 13th 2017.
