Safaricom The Title Sponsors For The BAKE Awards 2016

The Kenyan Blog Awards are set to go on 7th May following BAKE’s announcement on Safaricom being the title sponsors for the BAKE Awards 2016. Last year saw the rival telecommunication network Airtel sponsor the event. I guess this rivalry is not going to end any time soon. Safaricom has been working with BAKE in supporting the awards as they extended their sponsorship in 2012, 2013 and 2014. BAKE is pleased to have them on board again this year.

“It is great to have Safaricom come on board as this year’s title sponsors. Their support over the years has been unwavering and it is even more significant since this is an organization that understands and appreciates the important role played by content creators and the online space in the advancement of our community”, said Kennedy Kachwanya the BAKE Chairman.

The submission phase began from 8th January to 10th February where 5 judges went through the submitted blogs and picked the best 5 in the 19 categories.

The judges this year consisted of Mikul Shah, Ahmed Salim, TerryAnne Chebet and Muthoni Maingi. Online voting, which is currently ongoing, kicked off on March 3rd and will be closing on 1st May. This will send the Kenyan Blog Awards to its culmination on 7th May at the Gala event to be held at Radisson Blu Hotel, where the winners will be crowned.

Ticket sales start on 25th April 2016 till the 3rd of May 2016. The tickets are going for Ksh. 3,500 and they have to be bought in advance via  Mpesa Paybill number 865850, Account number: BAKE Awards.

The other sponsors for this year’s awards are EatOut Kenya which sponsors the best food blog, Xpose, Samsung and Coca Cola sponsoring the best sports blog.

It’s not too late to vote for your favorite blog at blogawards.co.ke/vote.
